Privacy policy

How we collect, use and protect your personal information.

Last updated

This policy explains what personal information Astraessa Ltd ("Astraessa", "we", "us") collects, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We are the controller of the personal information described here.

Who we are

Astraessa Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales [company number to be confirmed], with its registered office at [registered office to be confirmed]. You can contact us about this policy, or anything to do with your personal information, at introductions@astraessa.com.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — your name, email address, telephone number, company and the details of your requirement, when you contact us through the website, by email or by WhatsApp.
  • Information about an opportunity — documents and details you choose to share with us so that we can consider an introduction.
  • Correspondence — our messages with you, and notes of our conversations.
  • Website information — technical information your browser sends when you visit, such as your IP address and the pages you view. See "Cookies" below.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, special category information (such as health details) unless it is genuinely necessary.

How we use it, and why we are allowed to

  • To reply to your enquiry — because it is in our legitimate interests to respond to people who contact us, and because you asked us to.
  • To consider and make introductions — to take steps you have asked for before entering into an engagement, and to perform that engagement once agreed.
  • To share your details with a proposed counterparty — only with your consent, given once you have seen who we propose to introduce you to. You can withdraw that consent at any time before the introduction is made.
  • To meet our legal obligations — for example, keeping records and carrying out any checks the law requires of us.
  • To run and improve the website — because it is in our legitimate interests to keep it working, secure and useful.

Who we share it with

We never sell personal information, and we do not circulate details of people or opportunities to lists. We share personal information only:

  • with a party you have agreed to be introduced to, to the extent you have agreed;
  • with service providers who run parts of our business on our instructions — website hosting, email and secure storage — under contracts that require them to protect it;
  • with our professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants; and
  • where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.

International transfers

We work in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. Where personal information is transferred outside the UK — for example, to make an introduction you have agreed to in the UAE — we put in place the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or rely on your explicit consent where appropriate.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to two years from our last contact, so that we can recognise a returning enquiry.
  • Records of engagements and introductions: six years from the end of the engagement, to meet legal and accounting requirements.
  • Website technical information: no longer than necessary for the purpose it was collected for.

How we protect it

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to those who need it and review our measures regularly.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete it; ask us to restrict or stop using it; object to our using it on the basis of legitimate interests; ask for it in a portable form; and withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these rights, email introductions@astraessa.com. We will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk — though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

The website uses only the cookies it needs to work. If we add analytics in future, we will ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies, and update this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
